Job description

500° is seeking a talented Digital Retoucher to join our internal Image Lab team. In this role, you'll bring creative assets to life through expert retouching and color correction, delivering exceptional visual content across a variety of clients and projects. You'll collaborate closely with creative and project management teams to ensure all assets meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and consistency.
We're looking for a highly detail-oriented Retoucher with a strong print and prepress background to join our fast-paced, collaborative team. This is an onsite role based in our Columbus, OH office, and we're open to offering a relocation bonus for candidates who need to relocate.
What You'll Do
  • Retouch and enhance high-quality images for print, digital, and other cross-functional applications.
  • Create and edit files for both RGB and CMYK workflows.
  • Maintain exceptional quality control standards for all deliverables.
  • Execute advanced retouching assignments with a strong eye for art, composition, and color.
  • Follow established file build structures and department standards.
  • Manage priorities and daily workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Management to ensure projects stay on schedule.

What You'll Bring
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of commercial retouching experience using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Print production or prepress background.
  • Expert-level color correction skills and ability to adapt to various styles and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of CMYK and RGB color spaces.
  • Experience with color conversion and profile management.
  • Experience retouching food and consumer household products.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop Smart Objects and non-destructive editing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Capture One software.
  • Familiarity with Portfolio DAM systems.
  • Proficiency with the Digital Munsell Hue Test.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional travel (up to 5%) may be required.

The base salary for this position is $65,000, with the potential for up to an additional 10% if the applicant hired has additional related qualifications.
