Job description

Job Summary:
Raytheon is a leader in aerospace and defense, seeking an Algorithm Systems Engineer II to provide technical algorithm support and analysis for various programs. The role involves performance analysis, algorithm development, and collaborating with a team to resolve technical problems and present progress updates.
Responsibilities:
• Specific duties may include performance analysis, algorithm development, algorithm analysis, trade study generation, statistical modeling, performance predictions, and data analysis for complex systems using Raytheon Engineering processes and practices.
• Related day-to-day duties include participating in peer reviews and resolving identified technical problems.
• This individual will interface with their team lead, team members, and related engineers on a daily basis, conduct or participate in customer and/or program presentations, and provide task progress status updates and work products to the team lead.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained prior to start
• Experience in any of the following areas: Signal Processing Algorithms or Models, Image Processing Algorithms or Models, Detection Theory or Machine Learning
• Experience with UNIX/Linux and demonstrated computer programming skills in C or C++ and using MATLAB or Python for data analysis
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
Preferred:
• Preferred majors: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Math (STEM)
• Strong mathematical modeling and problem-solving abilities
• Experience developing signal processing algorithms for airborne surveillance applications, signal & image processing, digital communications, detection and estimation theory, or AI/ML and training techniques
• Experience with Real-time Programming, software change management tools and processes
• Current Department of War Secret or Top Secret Clearance
