Assistant/Associate Professor of Art
Charleston Southern University
Position Overview
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Instructor/Assistant Professor of Graphic Design position beginning January 1, 2027. Charleston Southern seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and who are committed to excellence in teaching and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning.
Key Responsibilities
The teaching load will include teaching 12 credit hours per semester in undergraduate classes, including Drawing and Beginning Design. Faculty members are also called upon to participate in academic advising, serve on committees, engage in college and university service, and are encouraged to pursue their own creative work.
Qualifications
This is a tenure track position. The candidate is required to have earned a master's degree in graphic design or closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in graphic design. The ideal candidate will provide evidence of successful college-level teaching and be a working designer. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in illustration.
