Job description

As an Ignition Engineer at EOSYS, you will be working with small, multi-disciplinary teams to develop Ignition-based solutions for our manufacturing clients. Applications range from standalone SCADA applications to full-scale MES/MOM applications across multiple facilities. EOSYS is a member of the Inductive Automation Integrator Program, and we are rapidly growing our Ignition customer base.
Ignition projects typically range from a few weeks up to 6 months. On some projects, you will also be a part of the project commissioning team that goes onsite to the client. This allows you to see the "fruits of your labor" while also getting to experience unique manufacturing environments such as robotics, automotive assembly, hummus packaging, and even whiskey making. Based on your capabilities and interest, there will be opportunities to learn new skills and technologies as well as advance within the company.
Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical)
  • 5+ years' experience configuring and developing applications using Ignition (by Inductive Automation)
  • Skilled in Python, Jython, C#.NET, web technologies and SQL
  • Experience with Ignition Vision and Perspective development environments

Nice to have
  • Experience with React, TypeScript and AI Development
  • Experience with OPC UA and MQTT
  • Experience with Ignition Edge, MES and IIoT connectivity
  • Experience with databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, MariaDB, MongoDB)
  • Basic knowledge of PLC tag structures and communications
  • Familiarity with working in a manufacturing environment
  • Commissioning and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with PLC and Controls Systems

Work Conditions
  • The work environment for this job is a combination of office and industrial setting
  • Sitting at a desk or console for extended periods
  • Must be able to be fitted for Personal Protective Equipment for certain customers
  • Standing and walking on a concrete surface for extended periods
  • Kneeling periodically on concrete or padded surfaces
  • Lifting and carrying 25 lbs. or more
  • Walking/working in mezzanine (screen guard) area (20 - 25 ft. high, wire mesh floor)
  • Climbing a ladder or metal stairs to access mezzanine (screen guard) area
  • Work in wash-down locations with wet/slippery floors
  • Must be able to work extended hours when needed and able to work at night or non-traditional shifts as needed.
  • Must be available to work on Saturday and Sunday as needed
