Description
The Ignition Interlock Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of the State's ignition interlock program. This role ensures that all device manufacturers and approved installers operate in strict accordance with state regulations (7 CSR 60-2.010 - 2.060) to maintain public safety and program integrity.
Examples of Duties
Coordinate all functions of the Ignition Interlock Program - 90%
  • Oversee the State's ignition interlock program to ensure that the approved installers and device manufacturers are in compliance as outlined in 7 CSR 60-2.010 - 2.060.
  • Monitor the State's approved Installers based on the most current list of "Missouri Certified Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Devices (BAIDD) Installers by City" to ensure compliance of the State guidelines outlined in 7CSR60-2.010 - 2.060.
  • Conduct scheduled, unscheduled and under-cover audits/visits on a minimum of 80% of the approved installers annually.
  • Ensure that the approved installers and authorized service providers comply with the "Responsibilities of Authorized Service Providers" (7CSR60-2.040).
  • Ensure that the approved installers and authorized service providers follow the operational requirements outlined in the "Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device Security" (7CSR60-2.050).
  • Conduct investigations related to ignition interlock violations and compliance requirements in coordination with Missouri Department of Revenue.
  • Monitor the suspension or revocation of approval of an ignition interlock device.
  • Monitor the approved installers and authorized service providers for proper reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of grants for submission and continued funding. Prepare for submission; monthly, quarterly and annual training reports to grant authority with approval of Impaired Driving Countermeasures Program Manager.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, provide testimony for prosecutors and State officials when requested.
  • Conduct presentations or training as needed or requested.
Assist carrying out the duties of the Impaired Driving Countermeasures program - 10%
  • Assist with and conduct compliance checks on breath alcohol instruments in the field.

Typical Qualifications
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.

Experience:
  • Three (3) years demonstrated experience in law enforcement or other criminal justice field with knowledge of DWI laws and arrests.
  • Three (3) years demonstrated experience in enforcing standards or quality control type duties.

Supplemental Information
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Temporary and/or seasonal employees.
Budget Responsibility: - 20%
  • Amount of sign-off authority: $2,999

Working Hours and Days:
Monday - Friday 8 am to 5pm
