This role sits at the intersection of hardware experimentation, data analytics, and system optimization. You’ll design and execute sensor experiments, analyze results, and communicate findings clearly to firmware and hardware engineering teams. Experience with Analog Front Ends (AFEs) and sensor signal processing is essential.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments for biometric and inertial sensor systems.
  • Perform data analysis and visualization of sensor performance metrics, extracting actionable insights for firmware implementation.
  • Collaborate with firmware and hardware engineers to integrate and validate findings from experimental results.
  • Establish robust test setups and data pipelines for ongoing validation and regression analysis.
  • Document results, methodologies, and recommendations in clear, review-ready reports.
  • Act as an independent problem-solver who identifies when to bring in domain experts for deeper review.
  • Model sensor behavior, including noise, drift, and temperature effects.

 Skills/Abilities:

  • Skilled with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DAQs, precision analyzers).
  • Proven ability to communicate quantitative findings to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and firmware integration.
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence, etc.) is a plus.
  • Understanding of environmental and reliability testing for precision electronics.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and interpreting controlled experiments and statistical data analysis.
  • Track record of success in contract-based or consulting roles requiring autonomy and accountability
  • Strong background in analog front ends, signal conditioning, and sensor interfacing (I²C, SPI, UART).
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, NumPy/Pandas, Jupyter).

 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in sensor systems development
  • Experience with sensor fusion and algorithm validation.
