Description

About the Role

Ignition Dealer Services is hiring a Insurance/Reinsurance Analyst with strong insurance accounting, policy administration, and claims reconciliation experience to support our growing portfolio of risk and insurance programs across a national dealership network.

This is a high-impact opportunity for someone with a background in insurance finance and/or reinsurance operations who thrives at the intersection of claims data, financial reporting, and cross-functional coordination. You'll partner with brokers, legal, and internal accounting to build scalable systems for insurance program oversight, reinsurance tracking, and claims performance reporting.

Note: This is not a general data analyst or BI role. We're specifically seeking candidates with a background in insurance and/or reinsurance, with experience reviewing policies, supporting claims workflows, and working with brokers or carriers.

What You'll Do

Insurance Program Oversight

  • Manage policy placements, renewals, endorsements, and claims across property, casualty, garage liability, and general liability programs
  • Maintain organized documentation to support audits, compliance filings, and internal financial controls
  • Serve as liaison between Ignition, brokers, underwriters, and carriers to ensure alignment between policies and operational needs

Reinsurance Tracking & Financial Reporting

  • Administer reinsurance agreements and support premium allocation, recoverables, and cash flow tracking
  • Reconcile internal records with carrier statements, ensuring accuracy in reinsurance premiums, ceding commissions, loss reserves, and payouts
  • Collaborate with accounting on journal entries, month-end close activities, and audit prep involving reinsurance structures

Claims Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor and analyze claims data, exposures, loss runs, and reserve movements
  • Build reports and dashboards in Excel, Power BI, or SQL to inform financial risk management decisions
  • Track and reconcile claims recovery processes, coordinating across brokers, carriers, and legal as needed

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with finance, legal, operations, and external brokers to support compliance, process improvements, and automation initiatives
  • Participate in insurance audits, support regulatory filings, and contribute to SOPs for insurance program management

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, or insurance accounting
  • Deep understanding of insurance contracts, reinsurance terms, claims data, and financial reconciliation
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, nested formulas, VLOOKUP); familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Compensation

  • $80,000 - $120,000 based on experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a reinsurance company, insurance carrier, brokerage, or dealership insurance environment
  • Familiarity with retrocession, ceding practices, loss triangles, and reinsurance recoverables
  • Exposure to Schedule F reporting, dealer-owned warranty companies, or F&I-related reinsurance structures

Why Join Ignition?

Ignition Dealer Services is a high-growth organization supporting insurance and risk programs for a coast-to-coast network of automotive retailers. This role sits at the center of our insurance finance operations-where your insights and attention to detail will drive smarter decisions, cost controls, and program compliance.

You'll work closely with a highly collaborative team of brokers, underwriters, legal advisors, and finance professionals-and be a key contributor to our broader strategy to scale and professionalize how we manage risk and reinsurance across the business.
