Aspen Academy has an amazing opportunity for a part time Early Childhood Teacher for the remainder of the 26-27 School Year. If you thrive working with different age groups on the same day, planning and pivoting to meet the needs of various learners, and collaborating with a talented team, we want to meet you.


Under the direction of the Extended Care Program Lead, the position provides after school care and programming for up to 45 students, ages 5-11. Start date is August 19, 2026 through June 4, 2027.


Hours Available

  • After Care Hours: Mon – Fri, 3pm - 6pm
  • Plus options for monthly half and full days during in-service days.

Pay (based on experience and PDIS level):

  • ECT / Lead Teacher: $18-$25 / hour
  • Aides / Assistant Teacher: $16-$20 / hour

Essential Functions:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Keep attendance sheets accurate.
  • Plan, implement and/or support appropriate games and activities.
  • To develop and maintain a well-managed classroom where 100% of the students are engaged, challenged, and supported. Classroom policies should be consistent with school policies.
  • Prepare and supervise snacks.
  • Maintain clean, neat and presentable classrooms and play areas. Clean up and follow closing procedures each day.
  • Keep Director and Extended Care Lead Teacher notified of problems and concerns occurring during extended care.
  • Attend annual health and safety training classes.

Requirements:

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Minimum: high energy, passion for teaching great kids. 16-years or older.
  • ECTs
    • Preferred: 1-2+ years’ experience working in licensed child care programs.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or some college level coursework, preferably in education, child development, etc.
  • Aides
    • Preferred: some experience working with children.
  • Excellent communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to use diplomacy and tact with community, staff and the general public.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Grant permission for a background check.
  • Meet physical demands to perform essential functions of the role.
