Job description

Heavy Civil Highway, Bridge and General Construction Company seeking a Project Engineer
The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the Project Manager and providing guidance and engineering support in the construction and administration of varied, complex projects. The Project Engineer must maintain the highest professional standards when interacting with all members of the project team including owners' representatives, suppliers, subcontractors and engineers.
DUTIES:
  • Support Project Manager in all efforts during construction through completion of project.
  • Quality control ensuring compliance with plans & specifications.
  • Maintain schedule and budgets & review project costs.
  • Review and execute material purchase orders.
  • Coordinate delivery of materials, scheduling of equipment/operators and subcontractors.
  • Setup field office, yard, storage etc. for IEW & Owners as required.
  • Generate work schedules in required formats.
  • Coordinate required work force.
  • Visit job site as necessary.
  • Schedule and attend applicable project meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Work with Union halls to conform to the company EEO standards.
  • Attend operation meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • College degree: B.S. Civil Engineering or Construction Management

Skills:
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate outstanding capabilities in:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • 3 years working knowledge of civil construction a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of heavy construction and bridge preferred.
