JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Supervisor works directly with other Supervisors and hands on with Operation employees. This position performs functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting manufacturing goals for customer orders by monitoring inventory needs, maintaining equipment, and checking quality. The Supervisor works as a part of our Operations Department in a manufacturing and distribution environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to manage 12 to 15 direct reports and numerous temporary employees
  • Knowledge of regulations including human resources, safety and environmental laws
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling
  • Ability to read and write reports and procedures
  • Knowledge of liquid and powder production and equipment a plus
  • Ability to make suggestions and informed decisions quickly
  • Possess strong organizational, leadership and time management skills
  • The ability to motivate, coach, and lead hourly employees
  • Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Demonstrate sound leadership skills with a sense of urgency to obtain results
Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise production of powder and liquid products from compounding according to approved batch records, filling, packaging and palletizing
  • Coach and train employees on manufacturing procedures and equipment
  • Prepare all work orders for the production lines
  • Ensure that all quality and safety procedures are followed
  • Oversee the production planning, staffing, and day-to-day manufacturing operations in a cost-effective manner
  • Monitor production orders or schedules to ensure products and scheduled delivery dates are met
  • Preview production/operating reports and resolve operational manufacturing and maintenance problems to prevent down time.
  • Develop and revise standard operating procedures and observe employees to ensure compliance.
  • Propose and implement changes to existing processes to improve overall performance
  • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION

High School Diploma or equivalent

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working in areas where hazardous materials are processed and may require the use of PPE. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
