Job Requirements
  • Active RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
  • 2 years of RN ICU experience required
  • 3 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • NIH Stroke Certification / NIHSS required
  • Copy of nursing diploma or transcript required
  • EKG exam required
  • Experience with ventilators, sedation, pressors, CRRT, or cardiac surgery preferred
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care for critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the ICU
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
  • Monitor hemodynamics and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
  • Manage life-supporting modalities such as ventilators, CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, and Swan-Ganz catheters as needed
  • Assist with transvenous pacing, temporary pacing, chest tubes, and conscious sedation
  • Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, effective outcomes
  • Educate patients and families while serving as a patient safety advocate
  • Float to stepdown units that manage BiPAP and low-dose vasopressors when needed
  • Maintain professionalism, teamwork, and calm decision-making in a high-acuity environment
