ICU doctors frequently encounter rapidly changing patient conditions, high-stress decision-making, and the need to prioritize care for multiple critically ill individuals simultaneously. New hires can best prepare by developing strong clinical assessment skills, staying updated on evidence-based protocols, and practicing effective communication with multidisciplinary teams. Exceptional decision-making, resilience under pressure, and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and families set outstanding ICU doctors apart.
