Are you a pre-veterinary student passionate about making a difference in pet care? Barkera is seeking enthusiastic and motivated students to join our team as Pre-Veterinary interns. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside veterinary professionals, pre-vet students, industry experts, and pet owner advocates, contributing to educational content, and research, and supporting various that align with our mission of proactive and preventative pet care health and wellness initiatives.
This opportunity is ideal for students seeking to expand their knowledge of veterinary care, behavior, and the proactive pet health approach. You'll be able to explore the pet industry from multiple perspectives, including veterinary services, client education, and technological advancements in pet diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in research and development of educational content on pet health, nutrition, behavior, and grooming for the Barkera platform.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop informative materials for pet owners, focusing on proactive and preventative care.
  • Support in gathering and analyzing data related to common pet health issues, breed-specific concerns, and the effectiveness of various treatments.
  • Participate in virtual meetings and brainstorming sessions with veterinarians, trainers, and pet industry experts.
  • Shadow the Pet Owner Advocate in interactions with clients, gaining insight into the challenges and opportunities in pet ownership.
  • Assist with organizing virtual events, webinars, or online Q&A sessions focused on pet health and care.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects aimed at improving the accessibility of veterinary knowledge to pet owners through the Barkera platform.

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a pre-veterinary or animal sciences program.
  • Passionate about animal welfare, pet health, and the pet care industry.

Location: This is a remote role with meetings that may occur in the Broward Center of Innovation or Online Meetings
