Job description

About the role:

As an ICS (Instrument and Control Systems) Lead you will be responsible for responsible for managing and governing the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program for Westinghouse's Instrumentation & Control Systems (ICS) organization. You will ensure ICS safety processes and controls align with Westinghouse's corporate EHS standards and all applicable regulatory requirements. You will provide governance oversight and direct support across ICS's engineering, manufacturing, field project, and vendor operations. You will provide safety expertise, capability development, and people leadership for a small team of EHS professionals, while ICS line management retains direct accountability for daily safety execution and performance.

You will report to the Sr Director of ICS/QEHSO. You will be hybrid working out of a US Westinghouse facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and govern ICS's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program, ensuring understanding of Westinghouse corporate EHS standards and full compliance with all applicable safety regulations across ICS operations.
  • Ensure effective deployment and execution of safety processes and controls across ICS's engineering offices, manufacturing operations, field project sites, and vendor facilities, verifying that all activities are performed safely and in accordance with required EHS protocols.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs across the ICS workforce, spanning manufacturing, vendor, engineering, project, and officebased activities.
  • Lead investigations of safety incidents, near-misses, and workplace hazards within ICS, performing cause analyses and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Establish ICS safety performance metrics and leading indicators, analyzing trends from safety observations and reports to identify systemic issues.
  • Champion a strong nuclear safety culture within ICS by cascading corporate safety messaging and promoting a "Zero Harm" mindset across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management, or a related discipline.
  • At least twelve years' experience in safety, though advanced degrees will count towards relevant experience
  • Previous experience creating and teaching safety policies and procedures
  • Professional EHS certifications, such as BCSP accreditations (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or related credentials), are desirable but not mandatory

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $100,800 to $126,000 per year.
