Job description

Job Title: OT/ICS Cybersecurity Architect
Location: Houston, TX (On-site)

Our client is a global professional services leader that specializes in large-scale digital transformation and risk advisory for critical infrastructure. With a deep footprint in the energy, manufacturing, and utilities sectors, they provide the strategic framework and technical execution necessary to protect the world’s most vital industrial operations against modern cyber threats.

They're looking for an OT/ICS Cybersecurity Architect to be a technical lead on a high-priority, long-term project through the end of 2027. In this role, you will design and implement robust security architectures specifically for industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) environments. Operating out of the Houston office five days a week, you will act as a subject matter expert, bridging the gap between IT security controls and the unique safety and reliability requirements of the plant floor.

Requirements
  • Extensive Experience: Proven background in OT/ICS cybersecurity architecture, specifically within energy, utilities, or manufacturing sectors.

  • Technical Toolset: Hands-on proficiency with Claroty (asset discovery), Palo Alto/Cradlepoint (segmentation/connectivity), and CrowdStrike (threat detection).

  • Remote Access & Identity: Practical experience managing privileged secure remote access using BeyondTrust.

  • Framework Knowledge: Deep understanding of industry standards such as IEC 62443 and NIST 800-82.

  • Risk Methodology: Experience performing consequence-based risk assessments, including Cyber PHA.

  • Location: Ability to work on-site in Houston 5 days per week for the duration of the contract.

Responsibilities
  • Architecture Design: Lead the design and implementation of network segmentation and secure remote access blueprints tailored to complex industrial environments.

  • Technology Deployment: Evaluate and deploy security technologies, integrating tools like Cisco, ServiceNow, Splunk, and TxOne into a cohesive security ecosystem.

  • Vulnerability Management: Oversee vulnerability identification and remediation planning using Claroty, prioritizing risks based on operational impact.

  • Incident Response: Design OT-specific security monitoring and incident response plans, ensuring seamless integration with IT workflows and SIEM platforms.

  • Governance & Training: Develop cybersecurity policies and procedures, and deliver technical training to plant operators and engineering teams.

  • Project Leadership: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders, mentoring junior staff and driving project milestones.

This is a long-term contract engagement confirmed through December 2027, offering a highly competitive hourly rate up to $95/hour. This position is based fully on-site in Houston, providing the opportunity to work directly with some of the most sophisticated critical infrastructure environments in the world. You will join a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving, supported by a world-class team of industry experts.
