Description
About IntelliSource
IntelliSource is a national outsourcing partner specializing in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), and Total Talent Management. With deep roots in high-volume fulfillment, distribution, and manufacturing operations, IntelliSource delivers end-to-end solutions that drive measurable results - on time and on target. We bring the sophistication of a national firm with the responsiveness of a regional partner.
ABOUT THE ROLE
IntelliSource is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control & Quality Assurance (ICQA) Associate to support inventory accuracy, quality control, and shrink reduction within a high-volume e-commerce fulfillment environment.
This role is responsible for identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies, conducting cycle counts and audits, researching root causes of errors, and partnering with operations to improve inventory integrity. The ideal candidate is highly accurate, comfortable working with data and warehouse systems, and able to identify trends that may contribute to inventory loss, fulfillment errors, or customer-impacting defects.
Contract Duration: Immediate start through an estimated date on or around December 31, 2026 with final dates based on business demands.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Control
  • Perform routine and directed cycle counts to validate physical inventory against system inventory.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, including missing, misplaced, damaged, overage, shortage, and inaccurate inventory.
  • Verify product locations, quantities, item identifiers, and inventory status throughout the facility.
  • Investigate inventory variances and determine potential root causes.
  • Support inventory reconciliations and corrective adjustments in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor inventory movement and identify unusual transactions or patterns that may contribute to shrink.
  • Assist with inventory consolidation, location accuracy, and slotting validation as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within warehouse management and inventory systems.

Quality Assurance
  • Conduct quality audits across inbound, stow, picking, packing, sorting, shipping, returns, and other assigned fulfillment processes.
  • Inspect product and process quality to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Identify errors that may result in incorrect shipments, damaged products, inventory loss, customer complaints, or operational inefficiencies.
  • Document defects and provide timely feedback to operational leadership.
  • Validate corrective actions and confirm that recurring quality issues are appropriately addressed.
  • Support adherence to standard operating procedures and quality-control requirements.

Shrink & Loss Reduction
  • Help minimize shrink through proactive inventory auditing, discrepancy research, and process observation.
  • Identify trends and operational behaviors contributing to inventory loss, misplacement, damage, or inaccurate system transactions.
  • Escalate suspected shrink concerns, unusual inventory activity, or recurring discrepancies to appropriate leadership.
  • Partner with operations, Asset Protection, and inventory leadership when investigating significant inventory variances.
  • Support process improvements designed to reduce loss, improve inventory accuracy, and strengthen inventory controls.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to shrink investigations and inventory discrepancies.

Error Identification & Root-Cause Analysis
  • Research recurring inventory and fulfillment errors to identify process, system, training, or execution gaps.
  • Analyze error patterns by department, process, product type, associate activity, location, or other relevant factors.
  • Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective-action recommendations.
  • Track recurring defects and measure whether implemented solutions improve performance.
  • Provide fact-based observations and recommendations to operational leaders.
  • Support continuous-improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects and improving first-time accuracy.

Auditing & Compliance
  • Conduct scheduled and ad hoc inventory, quality, and process audits.
  • Ensure required audits are completed accurately and within established timelines.
  • Maintain audit documentation and records according to facility standards.
  • Verify adherence to inventory-control procedures and standard work.
  • Identify non-compliance and escalate findings to appropriate leadership.
  • Follow established procedures for documenting and correcting discrepancies.

Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Gather, review, and interpret inventory and quality data from warehouse management systems and reporting tools.
  • Prepare routine reports related to inventory accuracy, defects, shrink, cycle counts, and quality performance.
  • Track key trends and identify areas requiring additional attention.
  • Review data for completeness and accuracy before reporting results.
  • Use spreadsheets, warehouse systems, scanners, and other technology to complete daily responsibilities.
  • Communicate findings clearly to operational leadership.

Position Expectations
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Follow established inventory-control, quality, and safety procedures.
  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication with operational leadership.
  • Remain objective and fact-based when reporting discrepancies or process failures.
  • Demonstrate urgency when addressing inventory issues that could impact customer orders or operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling inventory investigations or sensitive operational information.
  • Balance productivity expectations with the accuracy required of an inventory-control function.
  • Spend significant time on the warehouse floor auditing inventory and operational processes.
  • Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume e-commerce operation.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse, fulfillment, distribution, inventory-control, quality-control, or related experience preferred.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and reconcile inventory quantities.
  • Strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with associates, supervisors, and managers.
  • Ability to identify patterns and inconsistencies within inventory and operational data.
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous ICQA, Inventory Control, Quality Assurance, or Loss Prevention experience.
  • Experience within a high-volume e-commerce or fulfillment center environment.
  • Experience performing cycle counts and inventory reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet applications.
  • Previous experience researching inventory discrepancies or conducting root-cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of shrink prevention and inventory accuracy practices.

PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a large fulfillment facility.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat, and move throughout storage and processing areas.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, or handle products within established facility requirements.
  • Ability to work around powered industrial equipment and automated material-handling systems.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and noise levels.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, or alternate shifts based on operational needs.
  • Because this is a safety-sensitive position, job offers extended to candidates will be contingent on your ability to successfully clear post-offer criminal background screening and drug testing. Qualified Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Documentary evidence of your identity and eligibility for employment in the United States must be provided within three (3) business days of your start date.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Competitive hourly rate commensurate with market benchmarks.
  • Hourly rate of $22-26/hr + overtime potential.
