Position Summary
The Ice Rink Attendant is responsible for ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and well-maintained ice skating experience for patrons. This role involves monitoring activities on the ice, assisting skaters, maintaining equipment, providing excellent customer service, and managing concessions and ticket sales. The attendant must follow proper food and beverage sanitation rules as directed by their supervisor and be comfortable working in a cold environment, as the entire building is not heated.
This is a seasonal role that will start September 30, 2026, and will end on January 30, 2027
This role pays an hourly rate of $10.00-$14.00 and is tip eligible.
This position will remain open until October 30, 2026.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee skaters to ensure safety rules are followed and respond to any incidents or emergencies.
  • Greet patrons, provide information about schedules and events, and assist with skate rentals and sales.
  • Manage the inventory of skates and other equipment, ensuring everything is in good condition and properly stored.
  • Help set up and take down special events or activities at the rink.
  • Enforce rink rules and regulations, including helmet and skate rental policies.
  • Assist in cleaning the rink and surrounding areas to maintain a safe and pleasant environment.
  • Respond to minor injuries and provide first aid as needed, following protocols for emergency situations.
  • Perform as a skate guard if applicable.
  • Operate concession stands, including handling food and beverage sales while following sanitation and safety rules.
  • Assist with ticket sales and handle cash or credit card transactions accurately.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ice skating and rink operations.
  • Previous experience in customer service, recreational facility roles, or concessions is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift equipment, and respond quickly in emergencies.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment.
