Job description


Pay: $30-40, this is a non-exempt, part-time position.
Inspire the next generation of skaters!
The Winnetka Park District is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Figure Skating Instructor to join our skating program. If you have a passion for teaching, enjoy working with skaters of all ages and abilities, and thrive in a dynamic rink environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Qualifications: Seeking an individual with prior figure skating instruction experience. Must possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Should possess a positive attitude and passion for teaching and mentoring skaters. Professional membership with Learn to Skate USA and/or US Figure Skating is preferred.
Duties: Working under the direction of the Skating Director, you'll play a key role in creating a positive and engaging learning experience for our skaters.
Responsibilities will include,
  • Planning and leading group skating lessons following the Learnt to Skat USA curriculum and standards.
  • Encouraging skill development, confidence, and a love for skating.
  • Supporting all aspects of the skating school program.
  • Participating in competitions, ice shows, exhibitions, and special events.
  • Contributing to a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for skaters and families.
Work Hours: Classes are typically taught from September through July, with potential opportunities to teach during our August summer skating camp based on programming needs and instructor availability.
