Opportunity at a Glance The Village of Tinley Park has exciting opportunities for Seasonal Skate Guards to staff the new Harmony Square Ice Rink. We are seeking to fill multiple positions that will provide exceptional customer service and an enjoyable outdoor ice-skating experience. Be part of something new and exciting at Harmony Square with this brand new opportunity that puts you right in the center of the action helping guests on and off the ice, creating memorable experiences, and making sure the rink stays safe and fun all season long.

If you're a confident skater with great people skills, this is your chance to shine in a vibrant, fast-paced outdoor setting. The new synthetic ice rink opens in mid-November to the public and is located in the new downtown Harmony Square Plaza. Key Responsibilities The Skate Guard(s) positions will focus on providing an exceptional customer experience by communicating facility expectations with guests and promoting safety during all skating activitiesincluding public skate sessions, birthday parties, and other ice rink events.

These positions will actively monitor the ice rink and surrounding areas to ensure rules and safety guidelines are followed, prevent accidents, and respond to emergencies while enforcing rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment for all users. Additionally, the Skate Guard(s) will as work the skate rental office, renting and collecting skates from guests, wiping down & disinfecting skates and storing them properly including sharpening skates and managing skate rental inventory to maintain pre-arranged sorting system. Additionally, these positions will also assist the Harmony Square Program Coordinator with room setup and take down for parties and special events in the Harmony Square party event room.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Must be at least 16 years old with a minimum of one (1) year of required prior ice-skating experience, two (2) years is preferred. Prior customer service and cash handling experience is a plus. First Aid and CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Additional Information Starting rate of pay is $15.00. Position will be generally scheduled evening & weekend hours 12-15 hours per week beginning in November through mid-February.
