Job description

Position Summary
The maintenance worker performs a variety of general maintenance duties with the overall objective of upkeep across the Brunswick School campuses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend to daily maintenance requests, ensuring they are completed in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Perform general repairs across all campus buildings, including residential spaces.
  • Troubleshoot issues and determine the necessary measures for repair.
  • Perform landscaping services for fields and lawns.
  • Regularly inspect, service and maintain all equipment and machines.
  • Remove snow from all parking areas, sidewalks and school paths.
  • Assist with moving, loading and unloading of supplies, furniture and equipment.
  • Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Handle ice rink maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Be available to respond to 24-hour emergency calls as required.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Related experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair with some knowledge and skills related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building operations.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Some computer skills preferred, including ability to use Brunswick's email system and Google Drive.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions using safe work methods and following safety regulations relating to the job.
  • On-the-job training related to rink maintenance will be offered.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, squat, stoop, or crawl into spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Work in both a traditional climate-controlled office setting as well as outside in weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold for periods of time.

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 1:30pm - 10pm & Saturday 7:30am - 4pm
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Hourly
