Part-Time Scorekeeper
The Blackhawks Ice Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Scorekeeper to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and efficient recording of game statistics and managing game clocks for various ice hockey leagues, tournaments, and events held at our state-of-the-art practice facility. Scorekeepers will be involved in internal programs including our adult and youth leagues, as well as tournaments and special events hosted at the facility. Responsibilities:
  • Operate score clock accurately and efficiently during games.
  • Record all official game statistics, including goals, assists, penalties, shots on goal, and goaltender saves, on official game sheets or electronic systems.
  • Maintain clear and precise records, ensuring all data is accurate and legible.
  • Communicate effectively with referees, coaches, and league officials regarding game progress and statistics.
  • Ensure strict adherence to league rules and regulations for scorekeeping.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of game reports as required.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report any malfunctions promptly.
  • Arrive punctually for scheduled games and events, prepared to begin work on time.
  • Provide excellent customer service to participants and spectators when interacting.

Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic game environment.
  • Basic understanding of ice hockey rules, terminology, and game flow.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a consistent schedule.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
