Job description

Come join our Dakotah! Sports and Fitness Ice Arena Team as an Ice Center Attendant! In this opportunity you will be supporting the operational needs of the ice arena. If you are at least 16 years of age, have good customer service skills - this is the role for you! Enjoy weekly pay, career growth opportunities, and food discounts. Job Overview: The purpose of this position is to aid in the operations of the ice arena.

Create Your Path: The Work You’ll Do:

  • Assist in keeping the Ice Center clean and presentable to our team members and guests. Cleaning duties include sweeping, moping and garbage collection throughout the arena, including the lobby, vestibules, locker rooms, bathrooms, stands, conference rooms
    and common areas. Equipment used includes brooms, mops, floor scrubbers, blowers and vacuums.
  • Customer Service: Greet and assist guests, sell items from the arena pro shop. Operate the POS system and facilitate conference room rentals.
  • Facilitate Open Skate: Incudes issuing rental skates, taking payment, and checking in Dakotah members. Ensure that guests are adhering to policies and guidelines.
  • Train and become proficient on the arena’s skate sharpener. Operator considered proficient when a pair of skates can be acceptably sharpened in 5-8 minutes.
  • Facilitate ice rentals: Assign locker rooms, communicate with renters on expectations, ensure facility is prepared for current and future renters.
  • Begin training on Zamboni ice resurfacer and make consistent progress to becoming proficient on the machine. An acceptable sheet of ice must be made in 10-minute increments to be considered proficient.
  • Assist in larger events and projects throughout the year including set up and take down of event tables, chairs and equipment, moving nets during ice resurfacing, cleaning of dasher boards and glass, preparing the facility for annual Wacipi, and any unanticipated projects that arise.

Job Requirements: 

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • C.P.R. and First Aid Certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
