Job description

Swanky Scoop is a premium ice cream store based in Woodinville and coming soon to Mountlake Terrace. We are looking for new fun and outgoing ice cream scoopers who are upbeat and team- oriented! Swanky Scoopers are our part-time, front-line crew members. They scoop and serve ice cream to our customers, make waffle cones, run the POS register, keep the shop clean, change out flavors of ice cream when needed, and perform a number of other important related tasks.


This position will be at the Mountlake Terrace location, starting in mid-September (date to be determined). In person interviews and initial training may take place in late August/early September at our Woodinville location.


Scooper Responsibilities:

  • Offering samples and taking orders in a fast paced environment.
  • Following standard scooping sizes and procedures.
  • Making waffle cones, preparing shakes and sundaes.
  • Cleaning- counters, tables, bathroom, equipment (scoops, shake blender cups), hands.
  • Ringing customers out through our register POS (point of sale) system.
  • Stocking ice cream dipping cabinets, napkins, cones, etc.

Qualities of a Swanky Scooper:

  • Available to work weekends, late nights (11 p.m.)
  • Shows an eye for detail, a willingness to clean, and is a team player.
  • Explain our many different flavors to customers, and know how to clearly articulate how they taste. (Super important!)  
  • Keeps calm when the line is long, looks for side tasks when the line is slow
  • Loves ice cream, and is committed to the customer’s positive experience. 
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time, lift 25-30 lbs (2.5 gallon tubs of ice cream), and carry out repetitive scooping motions.
  • Provide consistent, amazing service to every single customer.
  • Reliable, on time, and ready to hustle for every shift.

Requirements:

  • Needs to work Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays- must be able to work weekends.
  • Access to a phone and internet for scheduling communication.
  • Food worker/safety card (can be acquired after job offer)
  • Everybody cleans.
  • Age 16 or older

Additional details

  • This is a tipped position.
  • Primarily hiring scoopers available to work during the school year (1-2 shifts/week) *AND* next summer!!
