The Flavor Profile

Museum of Ice Cream is seeking a proactive Facilities & Maintenance Manager with 2+ years of experience to oversee the safety, reliability, and presentation of our immersive museum environment.

This role is responsible for maintaining building systems, exhibits, and attraction-style mechanical elements to ensure a safe and seamless guest experience. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager leads preventative maintenance programs, oversees the cleaning team, manages vendor partnerships, and supports seasonal installations throughout the museum. Working cross-functionally with construction, production and operations teams, this role helps maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment that supports the magic of the MOIC experience.

Your Day-to-Day

  • You support and assist with the upkeep of facilities, ensuring they are clean, safe and welcoming, directly contributing to guest satisfaction and seamless experience.
  • Maintain immersive exhibits, installations, and mechanical ride or attraction-style elements similar to those found in experiential venues or indoor amusement environments, including but not limited to, physical, structural and technical elements.
  • Lead preventative maintenance programs for facility systems, exhibits, and mechanical equipment to ensure operational reliability.
  • Perform regular inspections of guest areas, attractions, and back-of-house spaces to maintain safety and show quality.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs with internal teams & vendors.
  • Manage maintenance tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
  • Lead activation and installation of new systems or services, ensuring set-up, integration, testing and user readiness.
  • Support the installation and removal of activations, themed décor, and temporary experiential elements.
  • Make quality decisions. You respond quickly to facility concerns, balancing teams needs, workflow and service quality while following established procedures. You know when to escalate issues and when to take action.
  • Oversee the museum’s cleaning team, ensuring all guest areas, restrooms, attractions, and back-of-house spaces meet high standards of cleanliness.
  • Maintain cleaning schedules aligned with operating hours, peak traffic periods, and events.
  • Conduct routine quality inspections and maintain sanitation compliance.
  • Supervise facilities technicians, cleaning staff, and external service providers.
  • Take ownership of recruiting, hiring, and onboarding Facilities Technicians, ensuring new team members are trained and prepared to support museum operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fabricators.
  • Provide coaching and training to maintain strong operational and safety standards.
  • Achieve missing certifications within six months of employment.

  • You provide guidance and feedback to help team members develop their skills, contributing to both personal and team success.
  • Recognize and leverage individual strengths to create and lead high-performing teams and maximizing productivity

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA workplace safety standards & local building regulations.
  • Maintain life safety systems including fire alarms, sprinklers, and emergency lighting.
  • Support incident reporting procedures and maintain safe working conditions for staff and guests.

Requirements

The Must Haves

  • 3+ years of facilities or maintenance management experience in hospitality, attractions, museums, entertainment venues, or similar environments.
  • Experience maintaining building systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Experience supporting interactive exhibits, attractions, or mechanical ride-style equipment preferred.
  • Experience overseeing cleaning operations or environmental services.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 100lbs.
  • Must be able to operate hoists, dollies, rollers, and hand trucks to move heavy exhibit components. In addition forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts.
  • Strong troubleshooting, vendor management, and organizational skills.
  • Possess basic understanding of accounting and finance principles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk on your feet for long periods of time, up to 8 hours

Licensing & Certifications (Nevada Requirements): Candidates must possess or be able to obtain and maintain the following:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • TAM Card (Alcohol Awareness Certification)
  • Food Handlers Card from SNHD
  • Non-Gaming Sheriff’s Card
  • OSHA Safety Training preferred

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000 USD depending on experience, as well as annual bonus and stock options.
