Your role and responsibilities

The IBM Technology Expert Labs organization is looking for an IBM Storage Solution Architect with expertise in IBM storage technology and products such as FlashSystem, ESS / Scale, DS8000, TS7700, Protect, Fusion HCI, and Red Hat OpenShift and Ceph.

The Solution Architect will collaborate with the client, business partner, and sellers to understand client requirements, and conduct discovery activities to define and create services solutions to address client needs. You will utilize your in‑depth knowledge of leading‑edge products and technology in conjunction with industry and business skills to influence clients. You are responsible for building a scope with activities and corresponding assumptions and estimating the level of effort. The Solution Architect creates the client‑facing proposal content and the detailed work breakdown structure.

You will work in a fast‑paced environment, working on multiple projects with multiple sellers and clients.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Storage Portfolio Expertise: Experience with IBM's Storage Portfolio products, including Storage Ceph System, Fusion HCI, Storage Defender System, Storage Discover, and other related products, with the ability to design and implement optimized storage solutions.
  • Solution Design and Implementation: Experience in designing and implementing storage solutions that meet clients' specific needs, leveraging IBM's Storage Portfolio products and technologies.
  • Storage Configuration Optimization: Experience in optimizing the configuration, deployment, adoption, usage, and analysis of storage products to ensure maximum efficiency and performance.
  • Client Needs Analysis: Experience in collaborating with clients to analyze their storage requirements and develop tailored solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Technical Delivery Expertise: Experience in delivering world‑class services to clients, ensuring high‑quality delivery and customer satisfaction in a technical environment.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Storage Virtualization Knowledge: Experience with storage virtualization technologies, including Storage Virtualize, and ability to design and implement optimized storage virtualization solutions.
  • Cloud Object Storage Familiarity: Exposure to Cloud Object Storage and ability to integrate it with IBM's Storage Portfolio products to meet clients' specific needs.
  • Tape Storage Understanding: Experience with tape storage solutions, including Linear Tape-Open (LTO) and Tape as a Service, with ability to optimize their configuration and deployment.
