Job Description :
  • This role may be filled at a Principal or Senior level. The Systems Engineer III will have a strong understanding of requirements development, test case development, and verification and validation of those requirements.
  • The ideal candidate will be proficient with requirements technical baseline management via IBM Rational DOORS, and act as a technical lead and point of contact to the Chief Engineer and customer.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with a broad customer base to identify unique requirements, flow the requirements into design documentation, and work with a diverse team to build and test those requirements.
  • Present to customers on the capabilities of current products, performance analyses, design information, and requirements verification methods.
  • Generate, review, and manage multiple requirements sets that cover all aspects of both performance and nonperformance including mechanical interfaces, electrical interfaces, data requirements, environmental requirements, and reliability.
  • Awareness and responsiveness to contract milestones and deliverables.
  • Lead an Agile team to ensure the designs are sufficient to meet the system requirements.
  • Work with various Agile teams to ensure all requirements are verified through inspection, analysis, demonstration, or test often by providing test and data reduction scripts.
  • Provide test directions to ensure production tests and troubleshooting tests are executed correctly and resulting data conforms to requirements.
Required qualifications - Principal System Engineer III:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 3+ years of engineering experience OR PhD degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 1+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience with IBM Rational DOORS
  • Demonstrated success with:
    • Technical baseline management
    • Writing and updating DOORS requirements
    • Decomposing and deriving requirements based on customer specifications
  • Experience in System Engineering activities such as:
    • Software requirements development
