Job description

Title: DB2 Database Administrator

Location: 5 Manhattan West New York, NY 10001

Job Description

FISA is in search of an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (OBA) with proven experience supporting D82 v12 (or higher) on an IBM zJOS platform. Primary responsibilities include working with application development teams to install and migrate releases, support execution of data fixes, define new and execute databases recovery functions, definition and execution of standard database tuning procedures (e.g., runstats, reorgs). The target systems for which support is required are: the Payroll

Management System (PMS), the Pension Payroll Management System (PPMS) and the Financial Management System (FMS).

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure that all installation, configuration, and tuning of DB2 databases are completed efficiently.

Author and validate procedures for all database processes.

Identify potential issues and deliver modifications I updates for DB2 programs.

Communicate with and deliver to Tech Support all elements to be migrated with specific

instructions to be performed during the production migration.

Assist Systems areas with tool upgrades and participate in Disaster Recovery drills.

Define and execute databases recovery functions, definition and execution of standard database

tuning procedures (e.g., runstats, reorgs).

Monitor the health of the key database operations (backup/ recovery processes, logging, system

response times, etc).

Open and manage tickets logged with IBM to resolution.

Work with application development teams to install and migrate software releases (DB2 tasks) and support execution of data fixes (backups, packaging for production, etc).

Perform DB2 DB troubleshooting of online and batch programs during production, user acceptance testing, integrated system testing, performance testing and development phases of the work effort.

Design and execute technical tests to ensure that vendor and FISA software deliveries address the business and technical problems in a manner consistent with FISA standards for quality and completeness.

Perform the all system administration activities for the IBM lnfoSphere Data Replication product.

High availability of the product is required, as it is a critical part of the City's Financial Management System.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

1.A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related fieldand four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT

2.A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,

3.Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or"2" above.
