About the Role
As a Group Fitness Instructor, you'll deliver engaging, safe, and effective group workouts that support members at every fitness level. You'll bring structure, motivation, and personality to each class while helping shape an inclusive, welcoming studio experience.
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Pay: $30 per class + $15/hour for administrative work
Schedule: Part‑time, minimum of 3 classes per week
FLSA Status: Non‑exempt

What You'll Do
  • Design and lead engaging 50‑minute group fitness classes that include a warm‑up and cool‑down
  • Create workouts aligned with the class format, offering modifications and progressions for all levels
  • Demonstrate proper technique, cue clearly, and provide real‑time form corrections
  • Bring high energy, encouragement, and professionalism to every class
  • Prepare playlists in advance and avoid repeating music in back‑to‑back classes
  • Arrive at least 10 minutes early to set up equipment, lighting, and music
  • Greet participants, ask about injuries or limitations, and foster a welcoming environment
  • Maintain a clean, safe studio by wiping down and properly storing equipment
  • Communicate equipment issues or needs to the Group Fitness Manager or Front Desk Managers
  • Support smooth studio operations and contribute to the overall member experience

What You Bring
You might be a great fit if you:
  • Have CPR or First Aid certification
  • Bring at least 5 years of relevant experience (work, education, or training), including recent group fitness or teaching experience
  • Are physically able to demonstrate exercises and lift at least 25 lbs
  • Communicate clearly, confidently, and positively in front of groups
  • Are dependable, punctual, and reliable with scheduling commitments
  • Understand human anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles
  • Know how to coach group fitness effectively using music, tempo, rhythm, and clear cueing
  • Have a passion for functional fitness; experience with or knowledge of HYROX training methodology preferred
  • Care deeply about customer experience and thrive in a team‑oriented environment
  • Enjoy improving systems, consistency, and operational flow
