Job Summary:
The Cloud Engineer II is responsible for the administration, support, automation, and continuous improvement of enterprise cloud infrastructure and platforms, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure environments and Hyland Alfresco content services platforms. This role serves as a technical escalation point for complex cloud incidents and service requests, while also contributing to cloud engineering initiatives, infrastructure automation, DevOps enablement, and platform optimization.

The Cloud Engineer II partners closely with the Technical Operations Center (TOC), Systems, Network, Security, and Application teams to ensure secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions that align with business objectives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Cloud Operations & Support:
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and resolve complex Azure cloud infrastructure incidents and service requests.
  • Serve as Tier II escalation for Azure-related tickets, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability across cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with the TOC Operations Analyst to prioritize, track, and resolve requests.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles, technical documentation, SOPs, and process checklists.
Hyland Alfresco Platform Management:
  • Provide full lifecycle administration and development support for Hyland Alfresco environments.
  • Manage deployments, upgrades, configuration, and performance tuning of Alfresco systems.
  • Troubleshoot Alfresco integrations, workflows, and repository performance issues.
  • Partner with development teams to optimize Alfresco-based solutions within the cloud environment.
Cloud Engineering & Automation:
  • Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management automation using Ansible.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes within Azure DevOps.
  • Automate provisioning, patching, scaling, and policy enforcement to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Implement Azure Policy and governance controls to ensure compliance and cost optimization.
Identity, Security & Compliance:
  • Administer Azure Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory integrations, RBAC, and identity governance.
  • Support Azure security controls, replication strategies, and backup configurations.
  • Implement and maintain compliance policies using Azure Policy and Microsoft Purview.
  • Maintain M365 and Intune configurations as related to cloud identity and endpoint management.
Virtualization & End-User Cloud Services:
  • Administer and support Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
  • Troubleshoot user access, performance, and configuration issues.
  • Support domain-wide scripting, advanced GPOs, and enterprise maintenance tasks.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration:
  • Identify process gaps and proactively implement technical and operational improvements.
  • Partner cross-functionally to streamline cloud service delivery and reduce manual effort.
  • Assist with IT asset management to ensure accurate cloud inventory and licensing records.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members when applicable.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience managing and supporting Azure cloud infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
  • 2+ years of full lifecycle management and development experience with Hyland Alfresco Software.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and resolving Azure cloud tickets/service requests in a production environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with hybrid cloud/on-prem integrations.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and cloud cost optimization strategies.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer, Terraform Associate).
