A Day in The Life
The Director, US Marketing leads the development and execution of brand strategy and integrated 360 marketing campaigns across innovation and core business within Urban Decay's iconic setting category. This role is responsible for driving category growth and reinforcing Urban Decay's leadership position in the setting space through consumer-centric strategies, breakthrough innovation launches, and impactful marketing programs. This role plays a critical role in fostering alignment across retail and brand partners, ensuring business objectives, consumer insights, and commercial priorities are translated into impactful growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVES
  • Supports the development of category strategy through market and customer analysis (market intelligence, NPD sizing, customer feedback, shopping behaviors, and CRM data) to identify growth opportunities and help ensure brand and retailer objectives are met
  • Manages launch alignment timelines with DMI, Demand Planning, and other cross-functional partners, proactively identifying potential risks and communicating milestone gaps or alignment challenges to senior management
  • Tracks market and competitive activity, including new product launches, trends, reviews, media exposure, and consumer sentiment, and provides regular updates and insights to the broader team
  • Partners closely with Sales and Sales Operations teams to support successful execution of marketing plans in the field, ensuring timely delivery of assets, alignment on launch priorities, ongoing collaboration, and continuous optimization through performance tracking and post-launch evaluations
  • Leads the development of creative briefs for DMI and cross-functional partners, ensuring global innovation and campaign assets are adapted and localized to meet the needs of the U.S. market, retailer requirements, and consumer insights
  • Leads visual merchandising briefing and feedback processes for seasonal updates and launch programs, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to balance creative impact, budget considerations, retailer requirements, and business objectives

MARKET ANALYSIS
  • Monitors competitive activity and market trends, providing regular updates and insights to support category strategy and business planning
  • Identifies and evaluates competitive product launches, marketing activations, and promotional programs, sharing key takeaways and recommendations with the broader team
  • Maintains a strong understanding of the retail landscape through regular visits to points of distribution and competitive retailers across both online and offline channels

  • Participates in field visits and supports the execution of key events, retail animations, and brand activations as needed to ensure successful implementation and gather firsthand consumer and retailer insights

DEVELOPMENT
  • Leverages performance data, retailer feedback, and consumer insights to identify optimization opportunities and continuously improve marketing effectiveness and business results
  • Builds strong cross-functional partnerships across Sales, DMI, Visual Merchandising, and Demand Planning to drive alignment, enhance collaboration, and support successful business outcome
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies across marketing processes and facilitates the timely development, input, and approval of key programs and initiatives
  • Provides mentorship and development opportunities for the Marketing Manager and Assistant Marketing Manager, enabling them to grow their capabilities and deliver strong business results

Salary Range: $128,000-$180,000 + Bonus
