Job description

Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill Hydromat/CNC Set-Up Operator positions for a Manufacturing company in Livonia, MI. This is a contract job. Apply now!

Duties for this position include:

• Read and understand part-specific blueprints, dimensions, and production specifications
• Set up and operate Hydromat and CNC equipment according to work instructions, specifications, and standard charts
• Change Hydromat/CNC tooling and machine offsets as required for production
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, basic gauges, and optical inspection equipment
• Recognize and apply quality principles to ensure parts meet production and customer specifications
• Monitor machine operation and make appropriate adjustments to maintain quality and production requirements
• Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance routines on Hydromat/CNC equipment
• Use appropriate statistical tools and measurement techniques to monitor and maintain process quality
• Follow all procedures, work instructions, LEAP/5S standards, and HSE requirements
• Maintain accurate production and quality information and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel
• Work cooperatively with plant personnel, management, and coworkers to support safe and efficient production

Compensation (USD):

$21.00 – $25.00/hour + Per Diem
Depending on experience

Schedule:

2nd Shift
Monday – Friday
2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Previous Hydromat, CNC, machining, or manufacturing setup experience preferred
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, work instructions, specifications, and technical documents
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, basic gauges, and other measurement equipment
• Knowledge of attribute and variable gauging
• Ability to change machine tooling and offsets
• Strong understanding of quality standards and inspection processes
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience with Plex or another manufacturing ERP system is preferred but not required
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with management, coworkers, and other plant personnel
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards
• Willingness to follow LEAP/5S, HSE, and other company safety procedures
