Job Summary
This Mechanical Engineer role, based at the Cressona, PA facility and reporting to the Engineering Manager, is responsible for executing a broad range of engineering tasks to improve equipment performance, production efficiency, and system reliability. The position supports projects from concept through commissioning-including defining scope, developing designs, evaluating alternatives, estimating costs, and overseeing start-up activities. Additionally, the Mechanical Engineer provides technical support to Maintenance to enhance equipment functionality and long-term reliability.
What you will be doing
Required Education/ Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial experience required.
  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and strong project management skills required.
  • Working knowledge of machine design, hydraulics, pneumatics, combustion, instrumentation, and process control required.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within teams and across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential.

Preferred Skills/ Qualifications:
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • SolidWorks experience preferred.

  • Manage a variety of projects simultaneously: Provide alternate solutions. Provide cost estimates. Develop scope of work for project. Provide/Design drawings and specifications for project. Verify project design meets all regulatory codes and regulations, including Sapa standards. Provide requisitions and work orders for completion of project. Provide directions to labor force to complete projects.
  • Work with internal and external engineering resources, equipment suppliers, and construction contractors to complete assigned projects within schedule and budget constraints.
  • Perform a variety of engineering tasks such as analytical problem solving, design calculations, review of proposals from equipment suppliers and contractors, selection of equipment and contractors, and review and approval of vendor drawings, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Provide engineering assistance to maintenance and manufacturing departments: Develop solutions for ongoing maintenance/reliability problems, evaluate equipment upgrades, update drawings to reflect changes made by maintenance, troubleshoot existing systems, and coordinate/provide training and equipment documentation.
  • Communicate schedules and project status within department, with other departments within the plant, and with equipment suppliers and construction contractors.
