Job description

Description

Hydro-blast/Vacuum Technician Level 3 (TECH 3) performs industrial hydro-blasting, vacuum work, and associated labor in outages, shutdowns, turn arounds and general maintenance scopes. The work takes place in advanced manufacturing and power generation facilities throughout the US. 


Hydro-blast/Vacuum Technician Level 3 are required to travel, sometimes for long periods, to perform this work.


Perform duties and responsibilities of a Level 1 & Level 2 Technician as required.

Assist Team Leader to lead, manage, and hold team accountable impartially and fairly.

Update Team leader on adjustments to personnel, if needed.

Know the job scope of every project to which they are assigned.

Assist Team Leader to coordinate and hold team accountable to accomplishing multiple tasks. 

Have good working knowledge of company and customer policies.

Communicates regularly to Team Leader on job status and any complications that occur.

Acquaint themselves with any team to which they are assigned.

Be informative and mentor new employees.

Ensure that all policies and safe work practices are followed and enforced.

Assist Team Leader and take appropriate action to replace damaged or missing PPE on-site.

Review JSA's on-site and provide input on identifying hazards and implementing controls.

Immediately report and correct any unsafe conditions to the Team Leader.

Immediately report incidents or injuries to the Team Leader.

Record and report any on-the-job training (OJT) provided to employees in the field.

Participates in all pre-job hazard assessments and inspections prior to commencing any job.

Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including but not limited to personal protective equipment.

Hands-on operation of manual and automated hydro-blasting equipment.

Operate equipment by energizing/de-energizing the pumping equipment, operate any specialized hydro-blasting equipment, or   ultra high-pressure pumps being used on the job.

May be required to examine surface cleaned to ensure conformance to customer and facility expectations.

May be required to perform routine maintenance on customer equipment being used on the job.

Required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Able to operate and trouble shoot Vacuum truck or vacuum pump. 

Requirements

1500 hours of verifiable Hydro-blasting experience

Current WJTA certification or completion of within 30-days

Must be able to pass Tech 2 and Tech 3 certification with a score of 80% or better.Â
