Job description

CEG's client is a niche provider of environmental consulting services. They employ over 160 highly skilled and technical employees that develop unique, cost-effective solutions for our clients' environmental, infrastructure and regulatory needs. They are seeking a full-time, direct hire Senior Environmental Scientist to join their growing team in Asheville, NC!

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare technical scopes of work and budgets for proposals and technical reports. Common scopes may include but not be limited to multimedia sampling, waste characterization, stormwater, spill prevention, permitting, due diligence, etc.
  • Review and interpretation of data and preparation of reports and work plans.
  • Execute and oversee editing and release of technical materials.
  • Provide support within the department such as standard work, creative communications, and presentation.
  • Business development and generation of new business.
  • Participate actively in professional organizations and conferences; write technical papers and deliver presentations to clients and regulators.
  • Demonstrate the ability to complete concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and stay on schedule.
  • Travel is minimal but candidate should have the ability to periodically assist with field assignments as needed.
  • Experience with preparation of project specifications and bid documents a plus.
  • Assist with the implementation of environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations, environmental permitting, and multi-media sampling projects.
  • Regulatory agency interaction and coordination.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of previous professional experience in engineering, geology or the environmental sciences.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills.
  • Strong business development background.
  • Preferred candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, and be self-motivated, thorough, and detailed in their work.
  • Preferred experience of working with authoring tools and related software.
  • Ability to produce accurate, professional, and error-free documents in a timely manner.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Work well in a team setting.
