Job description

The General Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and appearance of the resort by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. This mid-level role requires hands-on technical skill, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the flexibility to support resort operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical issues

  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to ensure equipment and facilities remain in safe working condition

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and internal departments

  • Assist with pool, spa, and exterior maintenance as needed

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and Hyatt brand standards

  • Coordinate with supervisors and external vendors when advanced repairs are required

  • Support emergency maintenance situations, including after-hours calls as scheduled

Schedule & Availability

  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as required by resort operations

  • On-call availability may be required
