Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking experienced commercial HVAC technicians with strong field troubleshooting experience. This role supports startup, commissioning, service, and controls work on commercial HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, air handling units, and building automation systems.

All technicians enter a single talent pipeline in FactoryFix and are evaluated based on experience. Candidates may be aligned to equipment startup (mechanical systems) or controls startup (building automation systems) depending on skill set.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform startup and commissioning of commercial HVAC systems
  • Troubleshoot boilers, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and related equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues in the field
  • Support installation teams during system startup and turnover
  • Perform controls checkout, wiring verification, and system testing as applicable
  • Assist with BAS startup and programming verification as applicable
  • Respond to service and warranty calls
  • Complete startup and service documentation
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of HVAC service, startup, or field troubleshooting experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems including boilers and chillers
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or controls issues
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and mechanical schematics
  • Valid driverโ€™s license
  • Must have hand tools and electrical testing equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills in field environments
Preferred Controls Experience
  • Tridium (N4 / AX) experience
  • Honeywell or Johnson Controls (JCI) systems experience
  • BACnet or Modbus knowledge
  • Low-voltage controls experience
  • Understanding of control sequences or basic programming
Preferred Equipment Startup Experience
  • Boiler systems experience
  • Chiller systems experience
  • Commercial HVAC startup or commissioning experience
  • Hydronic or large system troubleshooting experience
