General Summary
The HVAC/Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment at True North Energy Solutions customer locations. This role involves working closely with Service Technicians, the Service Manager/Dispatcher, the Director of True North Operations, and site personnel. Success in this role requires a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, a positive attitude, excellent customer service, and a commitment to maintaining exceptional store and restaurant operating conditions.

As part of the role, a company vehicle will be provided for work-related purposes. The HVAC/Refrigeration Technician reports directly to the Service Manager.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems at customer locations.
  • Inspect HVAC and refrigeration systems for performance, safety, and compliance with standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment longevity and reliability.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Clean, adjust, and repair systems as required, including warranty service work.
  • Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Service and maintain equipment such as RTUs, condensers, evaporators, walk-in coolers/freezers, open-air coolers, upright coolers/freezers, and ice machines.
  • Maintain an organized inventory on the service vehicle.
  • Ensure the company-provided vehicle is clean, serviced, and maintained in excellent condition.
  • Document all work using maintenance service software.
  • Participate in on-call/emergency service assignments as part of a rotation.

Education and Experience

  • No degree requirement.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in HVAC and refrigeration is strongly desired.
  • Equivalent training and certifications providing the required skills and knowledge are welcomed.
