Location: Davenport, Iowa (Quad Cities Market)

Position Summary:

We're hiring a knowledgeable and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. You'll also play a key part in delivering an exceptional customer experience and helping homeowners make informed decisions about their comfort systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair & Maintain Systems:
    Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems to ensure efficiency, performance, and safety. Conduct preventative maintenance and system tune-ups.
  • Diagnose System Issues:
    Use gauges, meters, and other diagnostic tools to identify system problems and recommend solutions. Clearly communicate findings and options to customers.
  • Code Compliance & Safety:
    Adhere to local, state, and national HVAC codes (EPA, OSHA). Use proper PPE, handle refrigerants safely, and maintain job site cleanliness.
  • Customer Communication:
    Deliver high-level service and clearly explain issues, repair options, and estimates. Recommend upgrades or memberships with professionalism and integrity. Present a minimum of 3 options to each customer to match their needs.
  • Documentation & Invoicing:
    Accurately document service calls, diagnostics, and repairs in the CRM. Handle invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely and organized manner.
  • Tools, Equipment & Vehicle Care:
    Maintain your own basic tools. Keep company vehicles clean and organized. Track inventory and report any shortages or malfunctions.
  • Training & Team Support:
    Stay current through ongoing training and team meetings. Work with dispatchers, sales staff, and junior techs to ensure job success and company growth.
  • Professionalism & Teamwork:
    Wear the company uniform, keep work areas clean, and represent R3 Heating & Air with pride. Be willing to take on rotating on-call shifts and mentor newer team members.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • First Time Fix Rate (FTFR): Maintain a minimum of 80%
  • On-Time Arrival Rate: 95%+
  • Upsell Rate (filters, humidifiers, thermostats): Goal of 20%+
