Position Summary:

As a Senior HVAC Technician at SimonMed Imaging, you will play a critical role in maintaining optimal environmental conditions across our healthcare clinics. This mobile, market-based role requires a high level of technical expertise, independent problem-solving, and strong leadership skills. You will oversee preventative and corrective HVAC services, support junior technicians, and act as a subject matter expert within your territory.

Technicians are provided with a company vehicle, tools, and equipment. The Senior HVAC Technician is expected to lead by example in prioritizing proactive maintenance, ensuring safety compliance, and minimizing downtime across multiple clinic locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and oversee comprehensive preventative maintenance on HVAC systems (package and split units) including belt/pulley inspection, condensate line cleaning, motor performance testing, and burner/heat exchanger safety checks.
  • Diagnose and repair steam/hot water boiler systems, airflow issues, and ducting challenges.
  • Lead safe and EPA-compliant refrigerant handling, ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage complex mechanical, electrical, and system diagnostics and repairs, including compressors, control boards, contactors, and copper brazing.
  • Complete detailed work orders and support accurate documentation of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Provide support and mentorship to junior HVAC techs or facility team members as needed.
  • Conduct minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs to maintain facilities in like-new condition.
  • Perform facility asset inspections and safety evaluations.
  • Collaborate with clinic managers on project timelines, maintenance prioritization, and cost estimates.
  • Maintain full compliance with safety standards and company procedures, completing all required training.
  • Ensure effective use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Represent SimonMed with professionalism, integrity, and a customer-first approach.
Minimum Qualifications: Education & Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade school diploma in HVAC strongly preferred.
  • EPA Certification for refrigerant handling (current).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience, preferably in healthcare or similar regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to work independently and efficiently across multiple sites.
  • Experience in project scoping, quoting, and contractor coordination.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Leadership or mentorship experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasional sitting.
  • Able to work in varying environmental conditions, including rooftop systems.
