Hiring - HVAC Project Manager

C&N Mechanical Services, LLC

Location: Hartford, CT, Glastonbury, CT

Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Mon - Fri, additional hours as needed

Pay: $ 95k - $110k based on skills and experience

 

Job Summary:

The HVAC Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete project lifecycle-from estimating and planning through execution and closeout. This role ensures projects are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

The ideal candidate has strong HVAC project management experience, a solid technical background, and the leadership skills to coordinate field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients while maintaining excellent communication and financial performance throughout each project.

What you will do:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage commercial and multifamily HVAC projects from start to finish.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and scope documents while tracking performance against established goals.
  • Lead project meetings with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee field installation teams to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Review construction drawings, submittals, and RFIs while coordinating with engineering and design teams.
  • Manage purchasing activities, vendor relationships, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Forecast labor, equipment, and material requirements to maintain project schedules and profitability.
  • Monitor project costs and financial performance, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost control.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and company standards.
  • Conduct project closeout activities, including commissioning, documentation, punch lists, and client turnover.

 

What you will need:

  • 5-10 years of HVAC project management experience.
  • Prior hands-on technical experience in HVAC installation, service, or field operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, construction processes, and project management principles.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Technical training or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Connecticut S1 or S2 license.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification.
  • NATE Certification.
  • OSHA Certification.
  • Experience with multifamily, commercial, and industrial HVAC projects.
  • Experience estimating large multifamily HVAC project and/or commercial HVAC systems up to 25 tons are highly preferred.
  • Experience with conceptual estimating is a strong plus. The ideal candidates can develop preliminary budgets and cost projection from limited design information, evaluate project feasibility, identify cost drivers, and provide accurate conceptual pricing during the preconstruction phase.
