Job description

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to join our Company located in Deer Park NY. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and Public Work HVAC projects. The ideal candidate has a strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities

· Prepare detailed HVAC cost estimates for commercial and Public work contracts

· Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents

· Perform quantity take-offs for HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, controls, and

materials

· Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing

· Analyze labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs to ensure accurate proposals

· Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals within required deadlines

· Assist with value engineering and cost-saving recommendations

· Support project managers during project handoff and execution

· Maintain accurate estimating records and historical cost data

· Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as needed

Qualifications

· 3+ years of experience as an HVAC Estimator or in a similar estimating role

· Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and installation methods

· Experience estimating commercial HVAC projects experience a plus

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

· Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel

· Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Valid driver’s license and ability to attend local site visits on Long Island

Preferred Experience

· Familiarity with Long Island and NYC building codes

· Experience working with union and non-union labor environments

· Knowledge of value engineering and cost analysis
