Job description

Why Edelman?
Are you the kind of leader who doesn't wait to be told what's broken - you already know, and you're already fixing it? At Edelman, we're not just running HVAC calls; we're building a department that sets the standard for the trade. We're looking for an HVAC Manager to run department operations across our Illinois and Wisconsin locations, develop the next generation of technicians, and own the numbers behind the work. If you're ready to lead a department instead of just working in one, this is your seat.
What You'll Do:
โ€ข Own the Department: Take full ownership of HVAC service and installation operations - residential and commercial - across our Illinois and Wisconsin locations.
โ€ข Lead the Team: Manage technician scheduling, performance, and development, and build a bench of technicians who do the job right the first time.
โ€ข Protect Quality: Hold every job to the Edelman standard - proper installs, honest diagnostics, no shortcuts.
โ€ข Own the Numbers: Manage job costing, estimates, and margin accountability for the department - this is your P&L to run.
โ€ข Solve Problems Before They Escalate: When something goes sideways on a job site, you're the one who fixes it and keeps the customer's trust intact.
โ€ข Set the Standard for Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, EPA refrigerant compliance (Section 608), and code requirements without exception.
What We're Looking For:
โ€ข Experience: Proven leadership experience managing residential and/or commercial HVAC operations.
โ€ข Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification required.
โ€ข Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and refrigerant handling - you can walk a job site and know within minutes if it was done right.
โ€ข Mindset: You're Solutions Driven and Humbly Confident - a leader who takes ownership without needing to be the loudest person in the room.
โ€ข Business Acumen: Comfortable owning job costing, scheduling, and margin accountability, not just technical oversight.
โ€ข Dependability: A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the willingness to support multiple locations across our Illinois and Wisconsin service area as needed.
What Edelman Offers:
โ€ข Compensation: $100,000-$130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
โ€ข Time Off: Paid time off, accrued in compliance with the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act.
โ€ข The Loyalty Program: We think long-term. Our loyalty program runs for 50 years-the longer you stay, the more you earn.
โ€ข Total Protection: Health insurance (we cover a portion!), Vision, Dental, and a $25,000 Life Insurance policy at no cost to you.
โ€ข Future Focus: 401k through Vanguard with a 4% company match.
โ€ข The Perks: Access to "Access Perks" for discounts on travel, food, and shopping, plus voluntary benefits like Short-Term Disability.
โ€ข Growth: A real path to grow with us as Edelman scales toward $100 million and beyond.
Ready to Lead?
If you're ready to run a department instead of just working in one, we want to talk. Apply today and start building a career - and a team - you can be proud of.
