Overview
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to perform installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial and industrial HVAC systems and related equipment. This position supports a variety of facilities and requires independent work, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, maintain, and install commercial and industrial HVAC systems
- Service air handling units, chilled and hot water systems, and commercial DX equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on:
- Air handlers
- Boilers
- Chillers
- Pumps
- Fans
- Compressors
- Motors
- Bearings
- Ductwork
- Refrigeration circuits
- Operate, repair, calibrate, and modify building automation and direct digital control (DDC) systems
- Work with VAVs, VVTs, constant volume boxes, FPBs, ERUs, ERVs, VFDs, and ECM motors
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on mini-split, VRF/VRV, CRAC, and PTAC systems
- Repair and maintain related appliances and equipment, including refrigerators, ice machines, ovens, dishwashers, washers/dryers, range hoods, and air scrubbers
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and facility stakeholders during service activities
- Complete daily work orders and job documentation using computerized systems or smart devices
- Maintain safe, organized work areas and protect facilities during maintenance activities
- Assist with training and technical guidance of team members when needed
- Participate in on-call emergency response rotations and support renovation or construction projects
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical or vocational training preferred
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a journeyman HVAC technician in commercial and/or industrial settings
- Journeyman-level HVAC certification
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain a CDL Class B endorsement within the required timeframe
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift, carry, and handle HVAC equipment and materials safely
- Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
Nice to Have
- EPA-approved refrigerant certification
- Experience with building automation systems and DDC controls
- Experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and psychrometric charts
- Welding experience
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and HVAC control circuits
