Job description

Venture Global LNG ("Venture Global") is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company's Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global's modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

Summary

The Industrial HVAC Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and optimization of industrial HVAC systems supporting LNG facility operations. This role ensures HVAC and refrigeration systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently across process facilities, control rooms, electrical buildings, administration buildings, and critical infrastructure areas. The Industrial HVAC Engineer will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Health, Safety & Environmental teams to support plant performance and regulatory compliance.

This is a contract position location in Houston, TX.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems across LNG process and support facilities.
  • Monitor HVAC system performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, energy efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for HVAC equipment failures and operational issues.
  • Develop maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance plans, and equipment reliability programs.
  • Review and approve HVAC system designs, modifications, specifications, and vendor documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders during construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, environmental regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Participate in hazard reviews, management of change (MOC) processes, and facility audits.
  • Support capital projects, shutdowns, and turnaround activities related to HVAC systems and associated equipment.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, and technical records.

Qualifications

Required experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial HVAC engineering, preferably within LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Experience with chilled water systems, ventilation systems, pressurization systems, refrigeration systems, and critical environmental controls.
  • Familiarity with applicable industry standards including ASHRAE, NFPA, API, and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and operational troubleshooting activities preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial HVAC system design, operation, and maintenance.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with engineering software, HVAC load calculations, and technical documentation systems.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required.

Licensing & Certifications

  • HVAC-related certifications or specialized industrial refrigeration training preferred.
