We are seeking an Investigator to join our Compliance & Risk team in Boone, North Carolina. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Investigator,you will have the opportunity to:
  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Build and nurture strong, Christ-centered communication links across all domestic and international operations, ensuring every partner feels heard and valued.
  • Partner with internal departments to spot and close gaps revealed during investigations, and engage reputable external investigators when their expertise is needed.
  • Lead global investigations that align with Samaritan's Purse ministry goals, handling sensitive allegations of gross misconduct with integrity and prayerful discernment.
  • Design team-based response plans for misconduct reports that honor cultural sensitivities, safeguard investigators, field offices, and the broader ministry from risk.
  • Advance and continually improve reporting mechanisms for staff and beneficiaries, reviewing the Reporting Concerns Policy and recommending enhancements to protect the vulnerable and uphold our mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What are the qualifications?

  • As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university required in a relevant field and 3-5 years of experience overseeing and leading complex investigations; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the ministry and deliver training
  • Ability to adapt to multi-cultural environments and challenging situations
  • Ability to manage investigations with an international scope
  • Ability to work with vulnerable children and adults
  • Knowledge of investigations of sexual abuse and exploitation, and workplace sexual harassment
  • Knowledge of investigation procedures and strategies
  • Attention to detail in both written and oral communication
  • Investigative experience is preferred
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies preferred, not required
