Finance and Accounting โ€“ Virginia Beach, VA

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist who will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments in support of CBNโ€™s global ministry operations. This role ensures financial integrity, strong vendor relationships, and efficient payment practices, contributing to the overall stewardship of resources. Serving in this position facilitates ministry activities and contributes to CBNโ€™s Biblical mission to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide.

The salary range for this position is $38,000-$42,000 annually. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on a combination of education, relevant experience, and demonstrated skills aligned with the role requirements.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 2+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable processes, procedures, and internal controls
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (sorting formulas, and data management), and ability to learn new financial systems
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial processing
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal staff and external vendors
  • Strong customer service orientation with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible with ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
