Job Description:
The Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies at Fairfield University invites applications for full-time faculty member to teach in our Accelerated Second Degree Nursing Program in Austin, Texas. The Egan School offers Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)-accredited baccalaureate and graduate degrees in public health, nutrition, and nursing, with specializations in nurse anesthesia, nurse midwifery, family nurse practitioner, psychiatric nurse practitioner, and nursing leadership. Egan is a top-ranked School of Nursing and has been designated as a National League for Nursing Center of Excellence in Nursing Education. Candidates for the position should have experience that is consistent with the program's mission and must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in competency-based education in the classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
Qualifications
Master's degree in nursing required; doctoral degree in nursing, or enrolled in a doctoral program, preferred. Candidates must hold an active unencumbered nursing license in Texas and have a minimum of two years of experience as a nursing faculty member. Academic or nursing leadership experience commensurate with the mission, goals, and expected program outcomes is expected, as is documented education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development and competency-based assessment, as demonstrated through graduate course work, faculty-development programs, or completion or a certificate program in nursing education. Candidates must be innovative in curricular development and be prepared to incorporate simulation pedagogy into courses. Teaching experience in population health, mental health, research, and introductory nursing courses preferrred.
