Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Must have transportation to the off-campus site *
The Humane Society is located at 2731 Locust Ave, Fairmont, WV 26554
Animal Care:
  • Provide adequate food and water, bathing, and basic grooming to shelter animals
  • Assist with animal intake, evaluation, and treatment
  • Create and maintain necessary animal records, report logs, and perform data entry
  • Follow all established protocols and safety guidelines within the organization

People Care:
  • Provide quality customer service to clients, volunteers, and staff while actively promoting the MCHS mission, services, programs, and events
  • Assist clients with animal adoption process; facilitate client/animal interactions to insure a safe and pleasant experience
  • Other duties as assigned

Work is performed in a kennel/shelter setting and outdoors.
Operation hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm daily
Minimum Qualifications
  • Compassion for animals, comfortable working in the shelter environment, and willing to accommodate animals in the workplace
  • Ability to stay standing or active during entire shift
  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and other strenuous activities
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lb. with reasonable accommodations and carry objects and animals of moderate weight
  • Basic computer skills
