A Brief Overview
The Benefits Advisory Services Consultant advises prospects and clients on benefit plan design, contribution strategies, and alignment with TriNet-sponsored benefits. This role supports sales efforts, renewals, and plan-year deliverables while helping position TriNet's benefits offerings. The consultant partners with Sales, Customer Support, and internal teams to deliver consistent, compliant benefits guidance, directly influencing client satisfaction, sales outcomes, and TriNet's long-term success.
What you will do
  • Provide benefits consultation and education for Revenue teams in support of prospects and clients' custom to their business needs while ensuring high-quality experience and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to prospects and clients, helping them evaluate contribution strategies that meet their organizational goals.
  • Generate and deliver informative collateral and benefits knowledge pre-sale to TriNet sales colleagues and the extended TriNet ecosystem; including but not limited to the utilization of various support tools related to benefits and plan comparison(s) and ACA compliance knowledge.
  • Participate in renewal execution activities including preparation work (reviewing plan changes, renewal rates, and trends), pre-renewal questions, renewal extensions, and applicable system testing/quality checks.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in benefit relevant support calls, benefit training, open enrollment meetings, renewal meetings, and virtual presentations.
  • Engage and partner with internal teams on critical and ongoing projects in support of department and corporate goals.
  • Expand benefits knowledge, experience, and capabilities by participating in professional development and training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required

Experience Qualifications
  • Typically 2+ years with group benefits/insurance sales as a consultant or Account Manager required or
  • Typically 2+ years • Experience in benefits administration, benefits customer support related to renewals, open enrollment and/or client -facing benefits education preferred. required

Skills and Abilities
  • Developing knowledge and understanding of sales cycles and interacting with decision makers in a variety of industries.
  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of benefits and insurance products. Solid understanding of group health insurance is critical, as is the desire to serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Presentation and facilitation skills for virtual and/or in-person employee education sessions.
  • Consultative approach with ability to ask effective questions and connect benefits guidance to business needs
  • Customer-focused mindset; able to resolve issues within scope and escalate appropriately.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team, along with attention to detail.
  • Clear and precise understanding and adherence to ethical principles, company values, code of conduct and policies.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely, effective, efficient, and economic delivery of services.
  • Desire to deepen knowledge related to current and future TriNet products and services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge Salesforce

The preferred location for this role is Dublin, CA, and the salary range for this location is $57,800.00 to $97,500.00. All qualified external applicants will be considered for an in-office role, based in Dublin. All qualified internal candidates are encouraged to apply and consider relocation to Dublin and may be considered for remote hire at the company's discretion. The candidate's final salary offer will be based on the candidate's skills, education, work location and experience.
A candidate's compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet's corporate bonus plan.
