OVERVIEW
First Coast Security Services (FCS) is hiring a full-time HR Generalist to support our growing operations across multiple states. This is a hands-on, high-impact role embedded within a dynamic private security organization that prioritizes people, compliance, and operational excellence. You will serve as the primary point of contact between employees and the HR department, handling everything from compliance audits and employee relations to onboarding, investigations, and policy implementation.
This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable working directly with field operations and senior leadership, and wants real ownership over the full HR function. You will partner with account managers, operations staff, and client contacts daily to keep our workforce running smoothly and in compliance with federal, state, and contractual requirements.
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR inquiries, escalating complex or sensitive issues appropriately
  • Administer background checks, DMV reviews, drug/alcohol screenings, and employment eligibility verification per client contracts and company policy
  • Conduct workplace investigations and document findings thoroughly; participate in disciplinary meetings and terminations as needed
  • Partner with department managers to identify staffing needs and support recruiting, onboarding, and new hire orientation
  • Monitor and track compliance with required training programs including safety, anti-harassment, and continuing education
  • Conduct regular audits of personnel files to ensure accuracy and compliance with state, federal, and client-specific standards
  • Collaborate with client partners to meet all contractual HR requirements, including post-transition compliance reviews
  • Lead HR implementation for new client accounts and contract takeovers
  • Support development and rollout of company policies

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of HR, office management, or related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • CPR certified or willing to obtain certification

Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience in security, defense, or a regulated industry
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and digital recordkeeping tools
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations
  • Multi-state HR compliance experience
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification
