Job description

Mass General Brigham Cleaning Position

Responsible for providing support services and assistance in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness by ensuring a clean and hygienic environment for guests, patients, and occupants.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Handles and maintains linen supplies, including changing bed linens, replenishing towels and toiletries, and collecting and sorting soiled linens for laundry services.
  • Properly disposes of trash, recyclables, and hazardous materials according to established procedures and regulations.
  • Monitors and restocks supplies and amenities such as toiletries, towels, cleaning products, and other necessary items.
  • Maintains accurate records of cleaning activities, including daily cleaning logs, room occupancy status, maintenance requests, and other relevant documentation.
  • Follows established safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Qualifications:

    Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.

    Licenses and Credentials: Experience Customer Service Experience 1-2 years preferred or Housekeeping Experience 0-1 year preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Familiarity with different cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
    • Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance of the assigned areas.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
    • Customer service skills to ensure guest/patient satisfaction.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work well with others.
    • Trustworthiness and a strong work ethic to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
